WHY TIMBALUME EXISTS
I’m Brandon Harwood, founder of TimbAlume. I wanted to build an Australian business around a product I genuinely believed could make outdoor spaces feel more resolved — combining the warmth of timber, the precision of aluminium and a complete system designed to finish cleanly.
THE STARTING POINT
Warmth, clean lines and practical thinking — in one system.
I kept coming back to the same gap. Timber can bring character, but a finished outdoor space also depends on straight lines, controlled edges, sensible water management, low maintenance and components that work together. Too often, those qualities are treated as separate decisions.
The TimbAlume system brought them into one product idea. An aluminium profile forms the board; a timber-look Surlyn™ surface brings visual warmth; integrated channels manage water; and matching trims, joists and finishing pieces carry the detail through the project. From start to finish the process works.

WHY we BELIEVE IN IT
A product shaped by the details that matter.
Aluminium at the core
A precision-extruded aluminium profile provides the clean geometry, straight board lines and consistent edge detailing the system is built around.
A familiar surface material
The timber-look surface uses co-extruded Surlyn™ ionomer technology. Surlyn ionomers are a material family long used in demanding consumer applications — including golf-ball covers — where toughness and surface durability matter. The visible surface is co-extruded over the aluminium profile.
Water considered from the start
Integrated channels are built into the decking profile to direct water through the system, making water management part of the board design rather than an afterthought.
A practical way to install
The system is designed around a coordinated fixing and sequencing approach, with matched components and clear project guidance to help trades and capable DIY installers follow the correct installation method.
