A DIFFERENT APPROACH TO DECKING

A DIFFERENT APPROACH TO DECKING

A different approach to decking.

TimbAlume brings together two distinctly different material qualities. At its core is a precision aluminium profile, creating the clean geometry and detailing that define the system. The walking surface is formed with a co-extruded Surlyn™ ionomer layer, finished with timber-inspired colour and grain to create a warmer, more tactile architectural surface. The result is neither conventional timber decking nor a traditional composite board. It is a different material approach — developed around aluminium, surface finish and considered detailing.

MATERIAL COMPOSITION

Aluminium beneath. Timber character above.

Co-extruded Surlyn™ ionomer surface over a precision aluminium profile

01 — Aluminium profile

The underlying aluminium profile forms the foundation of the board and coordinates board, edges and finishing components as one system.

02 — Surlyn™ surface

A co-extruded ionomer layer carries the colour, texture and embossed grain of the finished board as an integrated surface material.

03 — Timber-inspired texture

Embossed depth and grain variation create a warm, tactile architectural interpretation of timber while retaining the precision beneath.

BOARD PROFILE

BOARD PROFILE

A wide, considered board format.

The TimbAlume decking profile measures approximately 180 mm overall board width with 140 mm effective cover. The wider format creates fewer visual lines across the finished surface and gives the deck a calmer, more contemporary appearance. Coordinated edge, starter and finishing components allow the deck to be considered as a complete visual system rather than simply a field of individual boards.

SYSTEM

SYSTEM

Designed as one complete system.

A considered deck is defined just as much by its edges, transitions and finishing details as by the boards themselves. The TimbAlume decking range is being developed as a coordinated family of boards, starter and finishing profiles, edge and perimeter trims, coordinated fixing components and supporting system components where applicable.

The objective is simple: fewer improvised finishing details and a more resolved architectural result.

COLOURS

A considered material palette.

The TimbAlume decking collection is built around a deliberately restrained range of timber-inspired finishes.

APPLICATION

APPLICATION

Made for considered outdoor spaces.

TimbAlume decking is intended for contemporary residential outdoor applications where material selection and detailing are part of the overall architectural design. Consider it for outdoor entertaining areas, poolside surrounds, covered and uncovered decks, balconies and terraces, garden connections, contemporary renovations and new architectural homes.

Project-specific suitability, substructure design, fixing requirements and applicable regulatory requirements should always be confirmed before installation.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Detail matters.

TimbAlume is working with Australian engineering, testing and technical partners to develop the supporting documentation required for confident product selection and specification. Technical information will be published here as it becomes available and is confirmed for the TimbAlume system.

MATERIAL SAMPLE PACK

Experience the surface firsthand.

The character of TimbAlume is difficult to judge from a screen alone. Request a physical sample to see the grain, colour, texture and aluminium profile in person and compare finishes against the other materials being considered for your project.
